A Nigerian lawyer identified as Tope Akinyode, who had earlier filed a lawsuit appealing the criminal complaint administered by Adamu Garba, former Presidential aspirant, against CEO of twitter, Jack Dorsey has shared informations about the case.
He claimed that Adamu Garba and his legal team failed to show up on November 25, 2020, for hearing at the Federal High Court without stating reasons for their absence.
Recall that the former presidential aspirant had sued the Twitter founder in regard to his support for the EndSARS protests in Nigeria which rather turned violent at a point in time.
Garba filed a fundamental human rights suit before a Federal High Court in Abuja while demanding that the Twitter CEO compensate the federal government with a $1bn compensation.
However, the politician was nowhere to be found when it was time for the hearing of the case. In light of this, the case has been adjourned to 22nd April 2021.
